Legacy House is more than just a house or local resource or community centre...
it's a place where ideas are transformed into actions
A Legacy House is more than a local resource or community centre. It is a place where "ideas are transformed into action". We believe that most people have thoughts, ideas or suggestions of projects or activities which can bring people & different communities together, this can create a spirit of energy between people of different cultures, religions, nationalities that celebrate their individuality, their diversity & difference.
At Legacy House we help through providing training, give or help secure financial and other resource, support by giving encouragement to people with ideas to convert them into action meaning projects and activities that builds their self confidence/esteem, at the same time achieving other outcomes such as environmental, drugs prevention, raising educational achievements.
Young people, refugee/asylum seekers and other disadvantaged communities use Legacy House without charges to plan events, hold educational and cultural activites. MoE volunteers offer their experience and skills to build groups into associations, to build individual and collective capacity that help new and other disadvantaged to feel safe, to have a sense of respect for their culture from this confidence able to enthusiastically embrace other communities and cultures.
Once a derelict house that no one wanted to a community home that everyone calls their own. Community and Social cohesion in action. Legacy House is often visited by young people groups from different parts of England and Europe to learn from our experience and see how the house operates, we hope to support other groups and organisations with a similar vision to that of the people who established and maintain Legacy House.
